OUR PHILOSOPHY OF CHANGE

Dr. Wu works from a cognitive behavioral, developmental, systems/community-focused, and strengths-based perspective. What this means is that she sees problems as opportunities to grow. She helps young people look for the answers they need within themselves and their environments. She will help to clear away false, unhelpful or detrimental beliefs one has about themselves, others, the future, and the world around them. She understands that while our coping skills may have been useful or serviced us well in the past, they could usually use some “sprucing up” given that our situations are always changing.

Dr. Wu will help you develop necessary tools to navigate through both current and future challenges. Some of these tools may include the capacity to identify and express one’s emotions; think and behave flexibly; take different perspectives; manage shame, disappointment, and loneliness; problem solve conflicts and problems; and build and sustain quality relationships.

Ultimately, we all succeed when we are able to have valuable insights into ourselves, are able to creatively problem solve, and when we intentionally take on impactful and meaningful roles in our lives, families, and communities.

GETTING STARTED IN 2 EASY STEPS

Step 1: Please contact us to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see how you and Dr. Wu could work best together.

Step 2: During the consultation call, Dr. Wu will schedule a 1-hour long initial meeting. Before the meeting, Dr. Wu will get you set up with our secured patient portal, where you will sign in and then fill out some forms and necessary background information.
